Dolphins Veteran Out for Season With 'Unfortunate' Injury

Just a week after signing with the team,

Miami Dolphins cornerback McKinsey Alexander on Tuesday

He was placed on injured reserve, effectively ending his season.

Reportedly in Miami against the Raiders over the weekend

The veteran corner injured his groin in a pre-season game,

But coach Mike McDaniel didn't feel like it was anything serious.

McDaniel said on Tuesday, "It's really unfortunate for him,

Especially because we just got him and he was doing some great work there."

It's a tough blow for the Dolphin's secondary, already battling a bad injury.

Miami brought in Alexander as a replacement for Trill Williams

who tore his ACL in the team's preseason opener.
