Detroit Lions claimed their waiver wire of official defensive Benito Jones.

To make room for Jones, the Lions overtook Jermar Jefferson.

Jefferson was the Lions' most surprising player, overtaking both Godwin Igwebuic

and Justin Jackson on Tuesday's opening 53-man roster.

However, Jackson, a veteran who did not have a clear waiver,

re-signed to the team's practice squad on Wednesday; IgweBuick did not.

Because Jefferson only has one accrued season,

he must undergo a waiver on Thursday. One can assume that

the Lions are at least interested in getting him back in the practice squad.
