The Buffalo Bills decided to cut Matt Araiza on Saturday, days after

the punter was accused of gang-raping a 17-year-old girl in October 2021.

The Bills picked Ariza in the sixth round of the April NFL Draft.

The team cut veteran punter Matt Hack on Monday,

making Ariza the team's opening punter. Three days later,

Ariza was named in a civil suit filed by a woman who alleged that Ariza

and two other members of the 2021 San Diego State football team were linked to gang rape.

"This afternoon, we decided it was the best thing to do," said GM Brandon Bean.

"Our culture here is more important than winning the football game."

With Ariza off the roster, the Bills are now looking for a new punter.

They have started planning to bring in potential candidates.
