Detroit Lions will need to reduce the roster to 53 within the week,

and as always there are going to be tough decisions in many of the

major status groups. But there is definitely some potential

that the coaching staff wants to have and try to cultivate.

For the most part, the rotational depth pieces are still being fixed,

and differentials are often things that are overlooked by the public.

That means cut day can bring in some raised eyebrows.

There are a bunch of aggressive players who are definitely

on the fence right now. Neither quarterback is 100 percent safe,

so any possible repetition of the cut here would not be so far-fetched.

With the number of options at the receiver, losing Tom Kennedy, Quintage Cephas,

or Trinity Benson wouldn't be shocking, though a bit disappointing.
